What a night! On September 24th your LIAA hosted the European Forum at the historic "Royal College of Surgeons" in London. Over 100 Lauder alumni and a handful of prospective students joined Lauder faculty and staff in a productive yet truly delightful evening. We were treated to a terrific "Cross Cultural Workshop" led by Regina Abrami, the Director of Lauder's nascent Global Program, followed by a stimulating panel discussion on global leadership featuring Mauro, William Lauder and Genevieve Kunst WG '98 and Liz Schimel WG '87.
We also learned how "red-hot" Lauder is right now. Not only are we attracting amazing applicants, but those admitted usually accept! We had a 90% yield last year, with the only admittees who did not accept doing so because their significant other didn't get accepted to Wharton. So we now have a record-sized and high calibre class of 74! Mauro also introduced the emerging Africa program -- which will be a first among American MBA programs.
Of course, catching up with old friends, making a few new ones and fulfilling our ambassadorial roles with prospective students in the gorgeous Library brought great joy to the evening. We were delighted to learn that Zimbabwean twins named Fortunate and Favourite are interested in Lauder and watched as a few brave souls wandered through the adjacent "Hunterian Museum", which boasts a grisly history of surgery and medicine with gruesome instruments and preserved specimens. Stay tuned for the next Lauder event!
